Choosing the Right Decoration Method for Custom Apparel
Screen printing, embroidery, DTF transfers, heat transfers — there are multiple ways to put your logo or design on a garment. Each method has strengths and ideal use cases. This guide breaks down your options so you can make the right choice.
Screen Printing
Best for: Bulk t-shirt orders (24+), bold multi-color graphics, event and promotional shirts. Screen printing delivers vibrant, durable prints at the lowest per-unit cost for medium to large orders. Setup fees make it less ideal for very small quantities.
Embroidery
Best for: Professional logos on polos, caps, jackets, and bags. Embroidery creates a raised, textured finish using thread. It looks premium and lasts forever. Ideal for corporate apparel, team wear, and any application where a stitched logo conveys quality.
DTF Transfers
Best for: Full-color designs, small quantities (even 1 piece), polyester and performance fabrics. DTF transfers deliver photo-quality prints with soft hand feel and no color limitations. No screens needed, so there are no setup fees — perfect for small runs and detailed artwork.
Heat Transfers & Vinyl
Best for: Names, numbers, and simple text-based designs. Heat transfer vinyl (HTV) is cut and pressed onto garments. It works well for individual customization like jersey numbers and employee names. Not ideal for complex multi-color graphics.
