Perfect Fitz started 18 years ago in December of 2002 as School Time Silk Screening. Jodie Gerard with a little encouragement from her son Landon Fitzgerald decided to step out of her job as an oilfield secretary and purchase a business that she had no clue about. The business happened to be located on UL's campus which Landon would be attending that spring semester majoring in accounting so he let his Mom know that he would help out in anyway he could. We printed strictly manually at the time with one little 4 station 6 color press and a small electric dryer tucked away in a small back room. Our original shop was about 1,750 square foot total with that including the office space. When you would enter the front door you would step into mom's office. We grew slowly at that time because we were limited to what Landon could print between college classes. The hours were often times grueling to get the job done with little resources but we kept plugging away at it and after Landon graduated from UL and was able to focus full time on the business, he and his mom were able to progress quite rapidly. We would end up renting the building next door and doubling our space as well as building a shop in Youngsville to fit our first automatic press back in 2008. Running from location to location was a very trying time for us because our staff would be spread out between the 2 shops and it made it very difficult to manage operations as we were growing. The company was ran like this for 6 years until the youngest of Jodies 3 boys Dylan would bring some much needed spark. It was Dylan who would motivate us and spur us into taking the next big step for Perfect Fitz which ultimately led us to moving all our operations into a bigger facility where we could operate under one roof. We are forever grateful for his drive, work ethic and belief in us to push Perfect Fitz to the next level!
We made the move to Broussard, La. into an 8,000 sq. ft. building right off of highway 90 in December of 2014. We are up to 18 employees now versus the 2 we started with in 2002 and we hope to keep growing and adding to that total in the future. We have since purchased 2 more automatic silk screening machines as well as 2 new embroidery machines to ensure that our quality is first class. We believe in investing back in our company in the form of equipment. We believe your employees are only as good as the equipment they operate so we try to add one piece of equipment each year that would best improve company efficiency & quality where we see a need. The move would prove to be a great decision and we thoroughly enjoy being a part of the Broussard business community. We are now more efficient than ever and I'm pretty certain that no one can touch our turn around time and quality.
